Lokpal Orders CBI Probe into Corruption Allegations Against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, BJP's Nishikant Dubey Demands Immediate Suspension
The anti-corruption body Lokpal has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to initiate an investigation into the allegations of corruption levied against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. In a recent disclosure, BJP's Nishikant Dubey revealed the news on social media platform X, asserting that his complaint had prompted Lokpal's decision to probe Moitra's alleged involvement in activities compromising national security.
Dubey's social media post roughly translates to, "On the basis of my complaint, Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe into the Mahua Moitra's corruption that compromises national security." The allegations put forth by Dubey suggest that Moitra purportedly accepted cash from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for posing questions in parliament aimed at targeting PM Narendra Modi and business competitor Adani Group.
Additionally, Dubey has accused Moitra of jeopardizing national security by sharing her parliamentary login credentials with the businessman. Dubey even wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging for Moitra's immediate suspension from parliamentary duties.
